Warframe: Will the upcoming changes and augment revive the dominance of the Loki Master Race?

Loki's reign as the trickster Warframe may be making a comeback with upcoming changes. Crowd control is no longer king, but Loki's new mind-control decoy and switch teleport improvements could bring him back to life. While some say he needs a complete rework, his niche as the Spy frame and high usage stats suggest he still has a place in the Warframe community. Let's see how Loki's new tricks will play out. 💥👀

👾 The Evolution of Loki’s Abilities

[Music] so the Loki master race, the title of our beloved tricko frame has had for over a decade but the game has moved on past that Master race crowd control is not as useful as it once was due to the fact that certain enemy types are now immune to it and the best form of crowd control right now is dead enemies so has Loki been left in the dirt not really but if you could change him how would you go about doing it which abilities would you change maybe you'd remove maybe you'd augment to fit the role of a trickster Warframe better than what he currently has on offer based on warframe's current game model that is where crowd control is a secondary option most of the time maybe he's one of your favorite warframes then let me know in the comment section below but in the last Dev stream we did get a look at Loki's upcoming decoy changes and the augment he will Now cast the decoy on an enemy which will turn that enemy into a friendly unit and cause them to aggro other enemies and fight them so it's a mind control type of ability and of course damage will be reflected back on those enemies kind of similar but not so similar to what Nick has however with the augment enemies Who attack the decoy will receive three random status effects and the reflected damage is increased by 350% no idea if our power strength is also going to scale this but it is a huge Improvement on the Bas decoy just how good it is actually going to be we won't know until we get our hands in it now another lowy change coming with the next Warframe Update is that his switch teleport will no longer root your Loki in place after the teleport and now it will also Grant you a short burst of movement speed after you cast it so it's going to be more of a fluid transition with that teleport ability but the question was put to Pablo on Twitter about giving Loki a more upto-date rewok based on the idea that the game has evolved over the last decade and now Loki feels a little bit outdated so Pablo's response was that he thinks it would be sad to turn Loki into a DPS frame that spreads viral AOE nukes or something like that Loki master is has had its head there yes but the game has changed and his role is very Niche but he thinks that the changes needed to make him the King again right that Master race would just not make him lowy anymore and turning him into a nuke frame would without a doubt remove that identity so I agree with Pablo not every Warframe needs to be a nuke and Loki's 2023 usage stats which are something de uses a lot are quite high at 1.3 which shows he is used a lot and 1.3 is higher than frames like Oberon calaban Nick Banshee G Frost Equinox Elli valko and so on so while he is a niche frame it is clear that he has a place within the community right now and gets used a fair amount probably mostly with spy missions so why should Loki get a rewok before other warframes that drastically need it that's the question right since he has got a spot within the missions that we run right now yes the game has moved on it's no longer centered around crowd control and the best form of crowd control like I said is dead enemies but Loki is the Spy frame that's his Niche that's his identity however he is also a Warframe that can push level cap level 99,999 which you can find a ton of amazing videos covering that kind of setup on YouTube but that argument can be made for pretty much any Warframe right now with the right setup his kit is dated and some additional changes would be definitely welcomed within the community myself included invisibility is definitely his best ability everything else could be re-evaluated and brought up into line with the current game his passive is absolutely terrible easily one of the worst in the game right now they could change that to maybe lean more into the actual trickster rule maybe make it harder for enemies to hit him give him a bit of an evasion passive if you will or maybe lean more into the actual spy side of things and have it easier for him to complete the hacking off the top of my head right there're just suggestions his decoy should probably have that new upcoming augment as part of the core ability his switch teleport is an ease of access ability or a movement based one so I'm not sure what else they could do with that other than maybe remove it entirely and stick a different a brand new ability in its place his radial disarm has too many enemies right now that ignore it at one point in time its augment was absolutely amazing but that was years and years and years ago but now it is definitely dated maybe having it short circuit defenses instead of radiating them with the augment would be kind of cool so a defense strip in a radius around him this would definitely have him used more outside of those spy missions because any kind of a defense strip in Warframe right now is god tier in fact what would be really cool okay and this will never happen right this is just a silly potato idea right nothing more it's never going to be added into game but Loki in Norse mythology was a shape shifter so imagine if our Loki could shape shift into enemy types grer heavy gunner infested healer Corpus Tech you get the idea like wisps Mo selection except enemy types they kind of have that Tech right now with allowing us to play as C again it's never going to happen and it would be too much bloody bother ever adding anything like that into the game but it would be cool nonetheless I am just spit falling but the overall idea is that his disarm is dated his passive sucks and his other two abilities are are they're just okay they're kind of forgettable the ones you could subsume anything onto either of them and not really care oh and another quality of like UI change coming to Warframe soon is the dragged mods will now show more information and provide better feedback popularity matching by updating the color whether it's red or green if it's going to match or not along with the capacity cost as you hover over them now these little quality of life changes are going to be absolutely huge for new players but let me know in the comments section below what do you 💭 Is Loki Due for a Rework?
