I always hear people say originality is dead. I don't actually agree with that sentiment, but I won't lie, I can see where they're coming from. How many times have you heard this one, for example: a chosen one who's gifted with unbelievable power, even though he doesn't know it, and he has a connection to the main villain? Or how about this: the main protagonist lives in a world where supernatural abilities are in abundance, and they have none, except someone gives them an ability much more powerful than anything they could have ever imagined?

"Luckily, most of the Roguelikes I've played have found creative ways to spice up their rather basic concept, like the story of Hades or the unique auto battle mechanic of Loop Hero," says G Scotty.
Once I picked up "Enter the Gungeon," a game that came out about 8 years ago, I didn't know if its age would show or if its creative shtick would be something I've seen before in newer games.

My biggest surprise was the game's difficulty. At first, I had a hard time with the controls, moving with one joystick while aiming with the other. It's definitely not something I'm really used to, but once I did get the hang of it, that didn't stop the game from being absolutely punishing.

"I think that's something I really appreciate about this game. It's very simple, even in its story. We follow an odd group of misfits—a marine, a pilot, a convict, and a hunter—who are in search for the legendary artifact, a gun that can kill the past," shares G Scotty.
"So what's the final verdict—is "Enter the Gungeon" worth $1 an hour? Yes, it's worth the price. A massive thank you to all of you who are members of the channel," concludes G Scotty.
If you like roguelikes or are looking for a goofy time or a challenge that will keep you on your toes, "Enter the Gungeon" is all of that and more.
