Flicker strike Gladiator build - Kinda Good, Kinda Bad, Not Sure How to Feel
Tried out flicker strike with some downsides - not a big fan, hard to control, and tough to build. Ended up shoehorning it into a regular strike build, but missed out on Vile Flicker Strike. Tried to 1v1 the Wildwood boss, but it didn't feel right. Shifted to Bladestorm and perforate for better bossing capability, but still had some defense issues. Overall, the flicker strike experience didn't quite hit the mark for me. #MixedFeelings π€
The character Ma has reached completion with the flicker strike Gladiator, but the experience is a mix of highs and lows. Historically, flicker strike has been a go-to skill, but it often leads to frustration around level 90. The skill diminishes the feeling of control over the character and gameplay, making it uncomfortable to build into. The new flicker strike, "flicker of power," has brought about some tough choices, as it seems challenging to justify regular flicker over this new option.
The attempt to utilize the flicker of power was a bit of a challenge, especially when trying to generate power charges. Despite the effort, obtaining a vile flicker strike, a notable aspect of the skill, became unattainable due to its rarity. However, the desire to duel the Wildwood boss in a Super Saiyan DBZ style battle pushed the character to level 50.
In the pursuit of better control and gameplay, this character has undergone a transition from flicker strike to Bladestorm and Perforate. The combination of these skills brought about engaging boss battles against entities like Eater of and a balance of offensive and defensive capabilities.
The defensive setup relied on carefully crafted gear, including a life on block shield, ailment-immune boots, and armor and evasion enhancements. The character's stats were fine-tuned to achieve 100% spell suppression, an essential aspect in navigating a world of dangerous mobs and boss fights.
The transition into an impale-based character brought about interesting challenges and considerations. From crit multi attributes to the strategic allocation of impale-related gear and gems, the character underwent testing to ensure a balanced offensive and defensive approach against tough enemies.
In summary, the THICC Gladiator saw evolving strategies, adjustments in skill choices, and fine-tuning of defensive capabilities. While the character faced challenges, there were critical learnings that enriched the overall gaming experience. Despite not aligning perfectly with the initial flicker strike vision, the journey offered valuable insights that will inform future builds and gameplay endeavors.
