New tier 17 monster specters have been leaked in the 3.24 Necropolis update. The flame Creator specter has good resistances and HP, but rolling magma ability has limited targetting. The necrotic bones specter is annoying to listen to and lacks damage output, but can be used with a Sumaner build. The wret defilers specter shows the most promise with a boss spell revenant ability that shoots nine projectiles in a spiral, but has inconsistencies in damage output. The Moon dancers and War caller specters from the league mechanic are currently the best options.

Introduction to Spectres in Tier 17 Maps

Hey guys, Gaz TV here with another Path of XL video. Today, we're going to talk about the Citadel tier 17 monster specters that we've been testing since the leak start of Necropolis 3.24.

How to Obtain Spectres

To get these specters, you have a couple of options. The "Adversaries" modifier allows you to have them in tier 17 maps. The most common way to get these specters is to pop a tier 17 map and desecrate in the map till you get them, or kill them in the map and pick them up. If you're too low level, you can desecrate them in a tier 17 map, or swing by my Global channel in-game by typing "SL Global 6666" and just ask for them in there.

The Flame Creator Spectre

The first spectre I'm going to be talking about is the Flame Creator. They have a basic really nice setup of resistances and a tremendous amount of HP, making them ridiculously tanky. They use different abilities, such as shooting exploding fire abilities and spamming a rolling magma ability with one chain.

Ability Description
Explosive Fire Shoots exploding fire abilities
Rolling Magma Spams rolling magma ability with one chain

Pros and Cons

The flame creators bring a unique set of abilities to the table, with significant damage output but some targeting issues.

The Necrotic Bones Spectre

The necrotic bones are specters with 75% lightning resistance and zero cold and chaos resistance, making them more challenging to use in higher-end game content.

Resistance Percentage
Lightning 75%
Cold 0%
Chaos 0%

Challenges and Approaches

Using the necrotic bones spectres requires careful consideration of resistances and possible shield army strategies for tanking.

"The lack of damage just wasn't there, making them very lackluster and disappointing." - Gaz TV

The Wretched Defilers Spectre

The wretched defilers are the most promising of all spectres, with a boss spell revenant ability that shoots nine projectiles in a spiral.

Projectile Description
Revenant Shoots nine projectiles in a spiral pattern

Inconsistencies and Challenges

The wretched defilers show potential, but inconsistencies in damage output require further exploration and testing.

Conclusion

The new spectres from the Citadel maps bring a range of abilities and challenges to the game. While some spectres show promise, others fall short in terms of damage and consistency. It's essential for players to carefully consider their approach to using these spectres in their builds.

Key Takeaways

  • Flame creators bring significant damage but have targeting issues
